“2010 PHINMA Summer Intramurals”
Philippine Investment Management, Inc. (PHINMA) celebrated its annual sports fest in the Manila Polo Club last April 17, 2010 with a fun, back to school them, calling the event the “2010 PHINMA Summer Intramurals”.
To fittingly start the day was a cheer dance competition by the different teams, showing off their well-choreographed routines to the delight of the spectators. The day was filled with exciting and fun games like Megaball Soccer, Bombs Away, a swimming relay and to culminate the sportsfest, a Tug of War where the strongest team stood standing.
The event was made even more special by the presence of PHINMA’s Chairman, Mr. Oscar Hilado who declared the games open and in closing, thanked everyone for a job well done.
The 2010 PHINMA Summer Intramurals was a fun and creative way of building teamwork and camaraderie among the different teams under the PHINMA Group and we can only wait in excitement to see what PHINMA has in store for its next annual sportsfest!

2010 Chevron Sportsfest
IN 10 SITY (Intensity)
Chevron held its annual sports fest last March 21 in the Philippine Sports Arena in Pasig. The theme of the event was IN 10 SITY (Intensity), and this was definitely the overall feeling throughout the event.
The day started out with a fun run for a cause, followed by a fitness showdown and speeches by the R n R team. Teams were treated to special song and dance numbers and the event also kicked off the 10k a day program, where Chevron employees were given pedometers and encouraged to log in at least a healthy 10 kilometers of steps everyday.
Throughout the day, teams gave their all as they competed in Flag Football, Megaball Soccer and the other events.
The 2010 Sports Fest was a success and employees as well as the organizers were happy and pleased with the great outcome of the event.

Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. celebrated its annual sports fest in the Alabang Country Club last March 20, 2010 with the theme, “Move as One”.
The event was filled with excitement from start to finish as the 6 teams named after different seas competed in fun and teamwork oriented games such as Megaball Soccer, The Batting Challenge, Bombs Away and more.
Going with the theme “Move as One”, the culminating game involved all employees and EXECOM members as they united to accomplish a single goal with Mr. Salinas, the company’s President releasing balloons to signify the completion of the game.
The day was definitely a fun way of building unity within PTC and to involve everyone to “Move as One”.

Yoga & Kalipimu Session

The introduction to Kalipimu will be
conducted by Troy Bernardo, one of Inner Dance’s traveling teachers. He brought Kalipimu to Morocco, Portugaland Spain, spending most of his time in Andalucia, and last year, Peru.
Felix Frank, a German national, is one of Kalipimu’s first foreign teachers. He is currently bringing Inner Dance
to the different islands of the Philippines, spending most of his time in North Cotabato. Frank is also a Reiki II instructor.
Kalipimu, or Inner Dance, is about getting in touch with the inner Spirit and taking the first steps toward healing and profound change.
WHAT IS THE B-LEAGUE?
The B-League Football Club (BLFC), founded by 10-year Flag Football veteran and multi-sport Coach JOSEPH “BLITZ” PAGULAYAN, kicked off 2009 on an all out campaign to promote the sport Flag Football thru FUN and creative events and short tournaments.
The BLFC is an affiliate of the PHILIPPINE FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE (PFFL) and supports the same objective of promoting and inviting new enthusiasts to the sport of Flag Football.
IS THE B-LEAGUE FOR BEGINNERS ONLY?
The B-LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB is the First and only organized Developmental Flag Football League in the country today.
BLFC was created to be the proper venue for new players to be trained and developed as well as giving them a chance to play the sport with no pressure or any form of intimidation. A set number of veterans are allowed to play in each team to help guide the new players with the rules and procedures of the game. Veteran mentors have the duty to encourage the spirit of always having FUN first while playing the game.
NOTE: Number of veterans allowed per team may vary depending on tournament formats.
B-LEAGUE SERVICES:
• Organizes and conducts short weekend FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTS
- FLAG FOOTBALL Workshops and Coaching Camps
- Football viewing parties and other fund-raising events
• ATHLETIC TRAINING for FOOTBALL Skill Development (Speed, Power, Agility, Core Balance)
- Corporate Tournaments
THE PROMISE:
BLFC DEDICATES ITSELF ENTIRELY TO THE GROWTH OF THE SPORT FLAG FOOTBALL IN THE PHILIPPINES AND THE PROPER CULTIVATION OF THE TRUE ESSENCE OF THE GAME. It promises to carry out its prime objective of providing a venue for anyone interested to play the game.
We are SINHA BAHIA DE CAPOEIRA MANILA PHILIPPINES, the local chapter school of a Brazilian International Capoeira Grupo/Association which operates in Brazil, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Spain. We are from the only Capoeira School in the Philippines headed by a full-time Brazilian Master, MESTRE TORPEDO, who has more than 27 years experience of practicing and teaching Capoeira all over the world. Our group is aimed towards promoting positive self-expression, cultural integration, and total health and fitness through the martial art phenomenon called Capoeira.
Capoeira is a unique Afro-Brazilian art form, born in the streets of Brazil, it combines body, mind, music and culture. It is an amazing fusion of dance, martial art, and gymnastics, performed to African beats of percussion instruments. A capoeira game is a wonderful event to behold and life changing when experienced.
